THE SOMA TEAM
"The Founders"

Michael Huntwork
Michael entered into this world in 1962 eager for the joy that the dance of life affords to every spirit expressed in a body. His “dance” has included two decades teaching in American public schools; being a cofounder of nonprofits on three different continents; coaching individuals and small groups into higher levels of consciousness; helping launch a number of small businesses; discovering with his beloved wife, Claudia, what love truly looks like; and parenting three children (including one Chinese adopted daughter with Down syndrome). The creation of a soul laid down in love for our Creator and His breath-giving Creation has now led Michael into his service as Cofounder and Board President of SOMA Life.

Claudia Huntwork
With a background in Family and Marriage Therapy and as a mother of three wonderful teenagers, Claudia possesses decades of experience working with children and families in various non-profit organizations and counseling settings. Born and raised in Taiwan, her family immigrated to Central America when she was a teenager. She later went on to higher education in Canada and then to America for her master of science degree in Family and Marital Therapy. A lifetime of cross-cultural experiences nurtured and strengthened her passion for promoting cultural sensitivity between diverse people groups and empowering each individual to walk in the beauty and power of their unique destinies. Having moved back to Taiwan in 2016, Claudia, along with her husband, Michael, and three children, have dedicated their lives to see Taiwan flourish and become a land of wellness in the world.

She is also a mother of two teenagers. Often needing to juggle between work and family, Emily well understands the importance of maintaining the balance between marriage, parenting and career. Her Christian values influence decision making in all aspects of her life. Willing to share her beliefs with people who have similar needs in finding peace and balance led her to becoming a board member for SOMA Life.
